Flavours of Scotland has been developed as a new range of touring products by the award winning Edinburgh tour company Rabbie's Trail Burners.
The innovative development of this new concept in gastronomic touring has been supported by a Scottish Enterprise Tourism Innovation Development Award in recognition of the unique nature of the experiences that Flavours of Scotland will deliver to you.
Flavours of Scotland tours will actively promote more sustainable practices in food and drink production as well as give you unique experiences and insights into how the natural larder of Scotland is managed and developed.
You will have the opportunity to visit organic farms and discover the benefits to the natural environment that going organic has on the biodioversity of Scotland's countryside. Experience and discover how livestock are reared and nurtured. Chefs will demonstrate ways to prepare the finished product and give you tips that will last you a lifetime in the kitchen. You will have the opportunity to enjoy in depth cultured whisky tastings and visits to some of Scotland's renowned microbreweries. And then there is the unique shellfish on the coasts of Scotland, mussel farms and world famous oyster bars that you can experience first hand.
Smokehouses are another ancient tradition that you will have the chance to witness first hand.
With all this in mind you will have a chance to get a real insight and experience into Scottish regional culture and help develop deeper understanding of the greatest pleasures in life - food and drink. |

ORGANIC FARMS & CHEF DEMONSTRATIONS
Some might refer to these tours as a "farmers market on wheels", and it is this and much, much more. You will have the opportunity to meet farmers and discover how they manage the land that is Scotland's greatest asset. Our tours will concentrate on farms who produce their food and livestock organically, and you will have the chance to interact with chefs on ideas on best ways to prepare and cook the produce, before tasting the finished product. |
